Samsung offering Android 16 based One UI 8 update in July

After finalizing the rollout process for the Samsung One UI 7 update in April, anticipations are circulating about the rolling out of One UI 8 based on Android 16 for Samsung Foldable devices i.e. Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. It is also anticipated the new rollout will take place in July 2025. It isn’t clear whether the One UI 8 would be available for last-gen Galaxy devices, or Galaxy S25.
Google offers two major Android updates within a year, a main annual release in the second quarter, and a smaller update in the fourth quarter of the year. So, the Android 16 update is in beta testing and is expected to be rolled out at the end of May, or in June. Samsung is also rolling out One UI 8 after a few weeks in July to align it with the Android 16 update.
Samsung hasn’t clearly announced, that the One UI 8 will be launched for beta program, however, it is anticipated that Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will be on top of the lineup for receiving the OTA update.
The introduction of One UI for Galaxy smartphones and tablets gives them an impressive and exciting look, and shifting One UI from One UI 7 to One UI 8 will give cool stuff to Samsung smartphones. The release of One UI 8, as compared to its predecessors is early and coincides with Samsung’s foldable lineup including Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, etc.
The beta program for One UI 8 is expected to start with Galaxy S25 and the next move to foldable devices as well. The users of the US, UK, India, Germany, and South Korea will be capable of joining the beta testing program if they have signed up for the Samsung Members app.
