Canva is launching Visual Suite 2.0 with AI-powered features, interactive coding, and more

Canva decided to launch Visual Suite 2.0 to add new AI-powered features for training generative models.

It was announced by Canva on Thursday at its Canva Create event at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles;

“We’re thrilled to unveil the Visual Suite 2.0 where creativity meets productivity, the biggest product launch since Canva was founded more than a decade ago. Each year, our community of 230 million people shares millions of ideas, and one we hear time and again is the desire to bring creativity and productivity into a single, seamless flow,”

Likewise, Melanie Perkins, Co-founder and CEO of Canva said;

“From reimagined workplace essentials to entirely new ways to create with your design partner, we’re excited to continue making it easier than ever for anyone to bring their ideas to life.”

Baking in AI

It is called Canva AI used to assist the company in performing different operations, creating images, and explaining design ideas, collateral for social media, mock-ups for printing, and so on. The users can use Canva Code for creating mini-apps i.e. interactive apps, custom calculators, etc to integrate with the design. According to co-founder and chief product officer, Cameron Adams, Canva has partnered with Anthropic for this feature. He said;

“Over the years, we have encouraged our teams to make interactive prototypes because static mock-ups don’t truly represent the experience we are trying to create with Canva for users. We started seeing teams inside Canva use AI a lot for prototyping. We thought of externalizing it and giving everyone the ability to code easily and create interactive experiences,”

Canva Photo Editor

The upgraded Photo Editor will work as a standalone and integrated solution for professional grade, as it will enable the users to remove or modify background objects automatically by simply clicking the object. As Canva says;

 “Canva Photo Editor has evolved into a more powerful tool designed for efficiency and ease whether working in a design or as a quick edit and export. Transformational features include AI-powered point-and-click editing to modify select elements with precision, AI-generated backgrounds that account for lighting and layout, and effortless object removal or replacement,”

Unified Format

Canva is going to provide a unified format to edit documents, presentations, animations, etc exclusively into a single design. The users will collaborate to operate multiple tasks simultaneously. As Canva said in a press release;

“This eliminates the need for separate tools, fragmented workflows, and disconnected files,”

Canva Coding

Canva offers prompt-based designs via the Canva Code feature to tackle technical and complex designing content. It works similarly to Gemini Code Assistant and GitHub Copilot. According to Canva, use text prompts for generating different types of content without writing code or using other external tools.

Canva Sheet

Avoid typical spreadsheet-building applications, ad move to better simplified data-driven work, as Canva is going to combine data, text, and visual assets within the “Magic Insights” feature. It will allow the users to select or identify notable patterns automatically. Moreover, use ‘Magic Charts’ to transform raw numbers into interactive graphs.
