Bluesky Launches 1.100 Update to Introduce Explore Page and Chat Reactions: is it similar to X

Social Media platform, Bluesky has shared a post from its official account to launch 1.100 update to rebrand their search page as “Explore Page’, and emojis reactions for DM feature.

Both features seem to be inspired by X (Twitter). The update will offer trends, suggested accounts, Starter Packs, and other features as well.

Bluesky has offered both features while inspiring by X (Twitter), as X has offered a reaction to the DM feature using an emoji since 2020. Similarly, on Bluesky, the users will find the react option next to the received message.

When you click the emoji button, a pop-up with various emojis including a heart, thumbs up, eyes, sad face, and a smiley face will appear to select.

Moreover, if the users aren’t satisfied with available emojis, simply click on the three-dot menu to find a more exciting collection of emojis, similar to the X platform.

Bluesky has changed the search page to “Explore Page” where you will find various options i.e. “New”, or “Hot” to find the most trending topics on Bluesky currently. The users are capable of editing the page to tailor it according to their favorite trending topics.

The Bluesky with its small size wasn’t capable of applying such features, but now with over 34 million users, the spotting of most trending topics circulating on the platform.

On Bluesky, the available trends are divided such as some are linked to current events, some are pointing to popular communities, and the trends are also mentioned with time i.e. 5 hours ago, etc.

Users will find suggestions of accounts for following while dividing into categories including Art, Comics, Science, News, Video Games, Animals, Sports, Politics, Books, and so on.

The update is available for iOS and Android devices to improve the user’s experience, especially in case of switching from the X platform.

The company also offered an update for the M feature, simply click on a message, and hold it, until a menu appears with a copy, translate, or delete message option.  A software update is also rolled out by Bluesky with different additions i.e. DM filters, long video uploading, and so on.
